PS3 Play PS2 Games

To more of it if they had to make it on Playstation 3 and was Jak X Combat Racing 2 that would be cause already miss playing I would finish off my story on the game I go through all cutscenes finally when I'm ready to see the final prizes at the of the game after the scenes just as it's given me my prrizes and saying congrations and that instead the system or the game freezes place ...

What should i choose? I kinda have my mind made up, but i don't wish to make a mistake. Ps2 ps3 or xbox360? I never owned a ps console. I usually game from my desktops and laptop. I've had the PS3 for about 2 years now. Recently I was searching PSS and discovered something very interesting. The item was PS2 system data and the description said something about being able to play a PS2 hard disk. I still have PS2 games but I have left over my cousin's house and there for I have not had the time to test if it works. Can somebody please tell me?
