First, this is a very good idea. The reason is, the game media that the games are printed on can be easily scratched, resulting in a damaged or broken game. If you haven’t made a backup copy, you will have to buy a second copy of the game. This is always painful, especially when you have already paid for the game.
But before you try and copy the ISO directly from the disc, only to find out that it doesn’t work, I need to mention… It won’t work. I know that it sounds disappointing, but the problem is the Wii game is encrypted. To make a working copy, your software will need to be able to decrypt it before it is transferred onto a new disc.
There are a lot of different programs out there that can copy your video games. But not all of them make accurate copies, nor do they all work with Wii games.
And that is the second and more important part of using an application like this. If you use one that is unable to make an exact copy that mirrors the original one to one you’re using the wrong application.
The reason for this is simple, DVDs store data in the most basic format, one and zeros, represented as pits and lands on the surface of the disc. We don’t need to get any more technical than that to realize that if a one or a zero is transferred incorrectly there will be a loss of information. The more that are missing or corrupt the higher the likelihood you can throw away the DVD.
This is why it is important to buy the right software. There is a wide range in prices, but just because a program costs a lot, that doesn’t mean it will copy Wii games better than a cheaper alternative.
There is another tip that you should find handy, it deals with actually burning the Wii game. Make sure that you do so at the slowest speed your drive can. When you do this, your copy will turn out much better and there will be less likeliness of errors.
As you can see, there are several aspects to keep in mind when you actually start to copy Wii games. They really aren’t hard, and once you’ve done it a couple of times, it really becomes second nature.
To recap the most important part of making an accurate copy is the software you use to get the initial game date. For this I have found one application that does an excellent job, it can copy Wii games 1:1 and it costs less than a single game.
It can also copy games from all the other major consoles, as well as movies and music. You can find out more about it when you visit my website GameCopy101.com.
