Mining for Gold in World of Warcraft

Gold farming in World of Warcraft, if it is done at Level 12 or Level 62 is a process that nearly always needs a little bit of steerage.  That’s the reason why there are such a lot of World of Warcraft gold guides out there.  If you aimlessly wander across the world trying to discover a good mining node or grouping of mobs, you waste resources that could be spent farming.  This is especially true with mining, even more so when you reach the upper levels of mining where nodes are few and far between at best.

What to Mine

Mining in the game starts with Copper that most simple of metals.  In your case, you’ll find that copper is actually decently profitable.  At roughly 2-3 gold per stack for raw ore and upwards of 4 gold per stack for Copper Bars, you can resell your leveling stock for between 15 and 20 gold before you reach level 10 an investment of roughly 2-3 hours.

But, it is the higher level ores you are going to want to strive for and even though you will find some that are worth your time and money as you progress, there are lots of them that you’re going to find early on, as outlined in your World of Warcraft gold guide of choice, that may make you the real coin.  The goal should be to maximise your mining ability as early as is possible.  If you have some additional gold, you can even smelt your way up to about talent level 150 or so on about 25 gold in investment.

If you are new to the game, this is perhaps not a choice, so you may just need to find your nodes.

Where to Mine

Most World of Warcraft gold guides with a section on professions will give you rather a lot of information on how to strike it rich with mining.  If you are lucky, your World of Warcraft gold guide will have a sequence of maps that show you where to go in a particular area for nodes.  Another good resource is cartographer which will save your nodes to a map as you find them, making it feasible to always know where to look when you go back.  Because node spawns are timed and randomized to a few preset locations, knowing a good route to follow as you wait for them to respawn is vital.  As for where to look for ore, the lower levels are usually best spent in Stranglethorn Vale, followed by Burning Steppes and Un’Goro Crater and in Outland in Nagrand and later Netherstorm.

Striking it Rich

Finally, making it enormously with your mining ability is a matter of having a World of Warcraft gold guide that shows you where to go and when, and having a basic understanding of the game’s mining economy.  You can make as much as a hundred gold from mining before you reach level thirty if you play it properly and when you reach Level seventy, the profession can net you up to two hundred gold an hour in some places not too shabby in any way.
