Send your playstation 3 to Sony
When you do this, you will basically have to keep in mind that the wait time is very, very long. First you have to get the box they send you, this takes 1 week. After that, you have to send your playstation 3 back to them. When that’s happened they will start the fixing process. This takes 2-4 weeks. When that’s done, they will send your console back , takes 1 week. With other words, if we count everything… You will be missing your ps3 for about 5 weeks. Also, I didn’t mentioned this yet but if your warranty has been expired, you have to an extra $150,- to start them to repair your console. That’s a real kick in the back.. It’s just not fair. But wait! There’s another option left!
Repair Shop
What you could do is to go to a repair shop that’s nearby. When you do this, you have to wait for 2-3 weeks at least, this means that It could take even longer! Also, nothing is free in the world we are living now, you have to pay between $50-$100 repair costs. This is expensive and quite better than sending it to Sony. But, you should check out the last option there is… Really.

What you could do, and from my opinion this is the best option any ps3 victim has, is to repair it by yourself. This way you take control in your hands and you will be able to fix it under 1 hour.
