The LEGO Group has been the leader of the building block toy industry since it’s inception in the 1940′s. Since then it has evolved tremendously with various themes that have been released. Some of those themes have not done as well as others. By far the most popular of these themes is the Star Wars theme of LEGO’s.
With it’s ever growing popularity, the Star Wars themed LEGO sets are in a prime position to continue to do well with both Star Wars fans and LEGO fans alike. The LEGO Group has been releasing Star Wars themed sets since the late nineties and Star Wars and LEGO fans around the globe love this.
It is easy to enjoy Star Wars LEGOs as they are both such recognizable brands. Spending time creating spectacular LEGO creations is what many LEGO fans have been doing years before the release of Star Wars LEGOs. The addition of the Star Wars brand only brings the enjoyment to a whole new level. LucasFilms created a brand many years ago with the release of the Star Wars films that has lasted for many years. When the Prequels were released, the LEGO Group recieved exclusive rights to creating Building Blocks centered around the Star Wars Theme. Some of the earlier releases were:
1. Episode I: The Phantom Menace LEGO Sets
2. Sith Infiltrator 7663
3. Battle Droid Carrier 7126
You would be hard-pressed to find a more loyal fan base than Star Wars fans and the same thing can be said for LEGO fans as well. When the two companies (LucasFilms and the LEGO Group) decided to create building toys together, that merging created an entirely new fan base! And with the announcement of an extended licensing agreement by the two companies earlier this year, you can expect an even greater demand for Star Wars LEGO Sets. LucasFilms recently released Star Wars: The Clone Wars to much fanfare and you can bet the LEGO Group knows how to capitalize on that success. Be ready for a wave of new products by the LEGO Group based on the ever popular Star Wars!
