Wow Fishing Guide

A fun an often profitable secondary profession in WoW is Fishing. Like Mining, Herbalism, and Skinning this profession is a gathering profession. In the WoW Fishing guide that follows I’ll introduce you to fishing and how to best play this profession.

WoW fishing takes real patience just like real world fishing. Just like the real thing, in Warcraft fishing you’ll spend a lot of time just waiting for something to take the bait. When you’ve caught something the bobber will dip, that’s when you need to quickly double click it! You may catch other valuble things while fishing other than fish and of course you might just get junk.

Fishing, like many other secondary professions, will go better with some primary professions than with others. Naturally, Cooking goes great with fishing just because it’ll allow you to cook the fish. Sometimes you may reel in cloth or leather. Two professions then that can use these materials are Tailoring and Leatherworking. The next thing in the WoW Fishing guide are the steps. To read more check out the World of Warcraft Fishing Guide

Here’s a list of some basic steps to guide you in WoW Fishing.

Step 1: Get a pole

To start just get a basic fishing pole. You can usually find a Supplier selling poles for about 23 copper near water or the trainer.

Step 2: Find a Fishing Trainer

As you’d expect fishing trainers will be near bodies of water, but if you do need help just ask a guard. It’ll cost only 1 silver to get initial training to start fishing.

Step 3: Find water

Just about any body of water will do. Bodies of water can include pond, rivers, and lakes. Finding a peaceful place will help you in two ways. For one you can fish without having to stop to fight. Secondly, when you’ve made a catch you’ll hear a splash in the water.

Step 4: Equip Pole

Just drag the pole to the main hand slot in the character screen.

Step 5: Spellbook

For convenience put the fishing icon on your action bar. Check your Spellbook, it’ll be there.

Step 6: Cast

Click the fishing icon to cast your line, the bobber will be in the water if you did it right.

Step 7: Reel In the catch

As I mentioned before once the bobber dips it means you’ve caught something. Double click the bobber. Once you’ve reeled it in put it in the inventory.

Remember, the lower your skill level, the more junk you’ll catch. This WoW Fishing guide won’t go into leveling, but there are some really good guide available. Some fishing spots will result in more junk than others. Focus mainly on getting the more valuable fish. Even though it takes longer you’ll earn a lot more gold.
