Is There a Way to Play Playstation 2 Games on a Ps3?

Does anyone know of a program or a work around that will make it possible for ps2 games to be played on a ps3? We have ps2 software downloaded from the playstation network but we tried to play a ps2 game on it but got the "not compatible" message. Is there any way to tell what ps2 games are compatible and which ones are not? CECHLO1 is the ps3 model number and it has 80 gig space, version 3.3.

Suggestion:

Only the original 20 and 60 GB models, and early 80 GB bundle models, are able to play PS2 games. If your PS3 has 4 USB ports, then it can play PS2 games; if it only has 2 then it can't.

There's nothing you can do to a non-PS2 capable PS3 to make it play PS2 games. The download you got from the PSN is only so that PS2 games that need a hard drive will work on the PS3, but the PS3 has to already support PS2 games for it to do anything.
