but my questions are:
1. will these versions work on a US PS3 system
2. Will I be able to play online with them and download other people's created characters and such
3. will i be able to buy and use the DLC when they come out?
I wrote to playstation and this is the response i got:
Thank you for writing us in regards of purchasing the exclusive edition of WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2011 on the PlayStation(R)3 computer entertainment system. Sony Computer Entertainment has implemented a territorial-based distribution system for its hardware, software and network. This limits the use of particular software to play on the console designated for that distribution territory (e.g. North American games may not play in the systems designed for other regions.). We do not have information on adapters or converters made to override territorial restrictions. The various PlayStation(R) consoles and format software titles are only designed to run in their respective regions and countries.
Sounds like it MIGHT not, but its not clear/direct

Suggestion:
basically there are some restrictions :
1 . dlc is region coded so you can't use add-ons for a game unless they're purchased or downloaded on a psn account in the same region – example : if a disc is from the u.k. only add-ons from the u.k. playstation store will work – you'd need a u.k. psn account
2 . games themselves aren't regional and play on any ps3 – except you need an hdtv/hdmi or you can't see pal region games on an ntsc region tv . unless it specifically states so it should play on a u.s. ps3 system
if the extra content is on the disc and you have an hdtv it'll play on your u.s. ps3 . if it's downloaded from the playstation store with a code you'd need a u.k. psn account to download from
you'll play online with north american servers so can still play online but may have issues in rare cases with foreign purchased games with different dlc not being compatible
