My question is, can I buy a new PS3 and just switch the hard drives and by doing so still have all of my data (games saves, downloads etc.)? When I originally changed out the hard drives I had to back it up and then install it. I can't back it up now though since it won't work. Please help!!! Thank you!
Suggestion:
my ps3 died. yellow light of death. i fixedit twice. then i relised hey its not going to work forever so i fixed it 1 more time. baught a new ps3 then using eathernet cables i connected them and transfered the data before the origional ps3 died again. its easy but you will need some screw drivers. and thermal compound and a heat gun. here is the video i used. 3 vids to compleatly fix your ps3. but be sure to have another ps3 right there to transfer the data before it dies again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_Ic1_TY-GU go there and fix your ps3!
