How Do I Fix Ps3 (slim) Blue-ray Laser?

recently i put in my Call Of Duty Black Ops disc into my playstation3 slim only to have something break! now i'm not sure if its my blue-ray laser or what but i need some advice on how i can fix this issue without having to have assistance by sony, because with the amount they charge to repair it i might as well buy a new 1. so please let me know if there's anything i can do!

Take it to an electronics service centre, but I doubt it's fixable.
