Nomad: On the desolate steps of 18th-century Kazakhstan, when opponent tribes battle for freedom, mystic combatant Oraz saves a child descended from Genghis Khan who is destined to join the country as “Mansur”. Historical fable has nasty sabers on horseback fights and excellent production layout (locals being used as add-ons) however trudging storytelling. Cast includes Kuno Becker, Jay Hernandez, Jason Scott Lee, and Mark Dacascos. (110 minutes, 2005)
Belizaire the Cajun: Assante is well cast as a charismatic drug dealer in love with a Cajun woman who is the spouse of a prosperous Englishman. This is a choppy and somehow unsurprising drama in reference to the English prejudice and brutality toward the Cajuns in 19th century Louisiana. Cast includes Armand Assante, Gail Youngs, Michael Schoeffiing, Stephen McHattie, Can Patton, and Nancy Barrett. (100 minutes, 1986)
Passenger 57: Mastermind terrorist Charles Rane has hijacked flight 163. When they terrorist make their move, passenger 57, security expert John Cutter, is in the bathroom. When he comes out, he sees the situation, remains unseen, and plots to save the flight, and it’s passengers.
Bean: Mr. Bean is a funny character played by genius comedian Rowan Atkinson. Being the caretaker of the Royal National Gallery, Bean is asked to take the famed Whistlers Mother painting to LA. This trip proves to be an incredible adventure for Mr. Bean.
Follow the Fleet: Admirable musical with sai;or Astaire and Scott courting siblings Rogers and Hilliard. Irving Berlin melodies contain “Let’s Face the Music and Dance,” “Let Yourself Go,” “We Noticed the Ocean.” A revising of Beach Leave, a 1925 Richard Barthelmess flick, and the 1930 film Hit the Deck. That’s Lucille Ball as Cat. Cast includes Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Randolph Scott, Harriet Hilliard Nelson, Astrid AlIwyn, and Betty Grable. (110 minutes, 1936)
Paul and Michelle: Why anyone would ever stay friends demands investigation. Too much has gone wrong to every think things could be rectified. This is a story of an incredibly strong friendship. Cast includes Sean Bury, Anicee Alvina, Keir Dullea, Catherine Allegret, and Ronald Lewis. (103 minutes, 1974)
