The youthful, Jewish WW2 martyr warranted a far more superior production than this overlong, uninspiring melodrama. Cast includes Ellen Burstyn, Maruschka Detmers, Anthony Andrews, Donald Pleasence, David Warner, Denholm Elliott, Vincenzo Ricotta, and Ingrid Pitt. (148 minutes, 1988)
The Lift: Sleek terror thriller set in a new high-rise, where the lifts are engaged in a suspicious number of mishaps. Maas is a more superior controller than author; smoothly made, suspenseful, and clever, however talky, with no acceptable clarification for the weird occurrences. Cast includes Hube Stapel, WiIIeke Minivan Ammelroay, Josine Minivan Dalsum, Pret Romer, Gerard Thoolen, and Hans Veerman. (98 minutes, 1983)
Spider Man 3: Spider man is finally getting his life in balance. Now some alien black substance has attached itself to spider man’s suit. This substance makes him stronger, but also reaches into the dark corners of his mind. He now must conquer this inner darkness and find the true hero buried deep inside his psyche.
Me, Myself and Irene: Normally mild mannered Rhode Island policeman Charlie Bailey is just a typical hard working cop. When he doesn’t take his medication, his alter ego Hank is let loose. Hank is a vulgar, rude, aggressive wild man. Irene, who has confided in Charlie for help, must deal with Hank too in this wacky comedy romance.
