EA have unveiled some video game news today that Skate 3 is currently in development for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 with an expected release date of May 2010.
Only a few details were actually given about the game features, but what was said was that this game is going to be more focused on team play rather than single. With the new co-op features, you will be able to create ultimate skating crews either online or offline. Once your team is built, youll be able to take part in group events and special career challenges.
Some of the current features are also on the list for improvements, Hall of Meat and Create are just two announced by EA. Not to mention a new training feature called skate.School which will allow you to train before you play with the pros.
All this is very good, but does it stack up to their competition? For many years now, EA has been in control of the skating gaming genre with their Skate games, but this could soon change with the release of the latest Tony Hawk game. This latest edition to the Tony Hawk game list will change the way we play skating games as it comes with a Wii Balance Board style skateboard controller, not like any other skating games. I just wonder whether if the Tony Hawk skateboard controller works well, will Skate and EA suffer as they are only improving basic features and not including much new.
Many people choose to sell video games after they have with them if they are not worth playing again, I think Skate 3 maybe one of these games.
What I know for certain is that Ill want to read some game reviews before I buy Skate 3, unless they announce some even better features.
