Red Sorghum: Evocative, brilliantly filmed drama which journals a most unconventional union between a set of rural lovers throughout the 1920s. The years pass, a new years shows up, and with it materialize Japanese invaders. Based on the work of fiction by Mo Yan. Cast includes Gong Li, Jiang Wen, Liu Ji, Teng Rijun, and Qian Ming. A Fool and His Money: A sleazy advertising man starts a new religion based on greed and selfishness. In the inevitable finale, he discovers the beauty of altruism. Sandra Bullock shines as the dubious girlfriend in this movie that came out before she became a star.
