Just like the previous expansions, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm has many new features to offer, places to see and experience, new battles to fight and new bosses to defeat in the name of saving the world as we know it and protecting the noble races of Azeroth from extinction. While during the previous two expansions a whole new continent was discovered each time an expansion was out, this time most part of the action takes place on the continents of Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms, which are getting a complete revamp and change in the scenery. Nothing will be as we know it. The changes will be visible to everyone – even to players who do not have the new expansion.
There are several additional zones available for those players who have purchased World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. One of the most interesting concepts is the fact that Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms are finally getting revamped so flying mounts will be possible to be used on these two continents. Before World of Warcraft: Cataclysm flying mounts were usable only in Outland and Northrend.
There are 2 new playable races to be introduced – the Worgen of Gilneas will find once more their way to the light and join the forces of the Alliance and the Goblins from Isle of Kezan will seek retreat and find new home joining Thrall and his Horde. Additionally several races learn how to walk the paths of honour, courage, elements and spirits and will be able to create characters from classes not known to these races before.
The biggest and most memorable part of the new expansion will be the returning of Deathwing the Destroyer to Azeroth. Hidden away for thousands of years this corrupted and treacherous Dragon Aspect has waited for his time to come and was recovering from his grievous wounds. He has sworn to rule the world of Azeroth or destroy it, turning the world into rivers of molten fire and clouds of ashes. His appearance from Deepholm, the realm he has been hiding for all those years will bring new Sundering to the World of Azeroth as we know it and nothing will ever be the same.
