It was mostly Falcon control with a great amount of control added.
How?
Let me borrow the list for this blog post and analyze it for you readers out there =D
Taken from Shriek’s Yamaguchi Championship Top 4
User: Natto
Deck: Haniwa
Monsters- 14
3 Falcon of the Mist Valley
2 Thunderking Raiou
2 Des Lacooda
2 Jurak Deino
2 Snowman eater
1 BF – Gale
1 Breaker
1 Morphing jar
Now we see the Monster lineup of 14 and notice that there are 3 different Monsters that serve as draw engines:
2 Des Lacooda – if kept on the field for long, will serve as a great build up for the hand cards
Morphing jar- A 1 time use unless cards like book of moon are used in the deck, replenishes the hand massively.
2 Jurak Deino – Though an unlikely choice, this card is also a level 3 Tuner and that pays off the lack of tuners in the deck!
But we also note the existence for these cards: to acquire the Falcon via drawing
Falcon of the Mist Valley
level 4 Wind Winged Beast
2000 ATK/ 1200 DEF
Effect: This card cannot declare an attack unless you return 1 card you control to its owner’s hand.
This card has alot of combos in the deck, we shall see the cards the work with it soon. It is also along the lines of ” 2000 ATK Monsters that need you to do something for them to attack” AKA Dark Elf and Panther Warrior!
Falcon targets for the monster lineup: Breaker and Snowman eater! =D
Spells -8
3 Book of Moon
2 Dimensional Fissure
1 Big bang shot
1 MST
1 Giant trunade
Big bang shot is a card that combos with Falcon, why its run in 1 in the main deck could be because of the user’s choice.
Big Bang Shot
Equip Spell card
Effect:The equipped monster gains 400 ATK. When the equipped monster attacks a Defense Position monster whose DEF is lower than the equipped monster’s ATK, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent. When this card is removed from the field, the equipped monster is removed from play.
See the combo?
Equip Big Bang shot to Opponent’s Monster.
Use Falcon’s effect to declare an attack.
Return shot to hand.
Opponent’s monster is removed from play!
The Dimensional Fissures in here are questionable, but I guess its to combat decks like Lightsworn or Infernities during the Championship.
Onto the Traps
Traps-18
3 Demons Chain ( Fiendish Chain in TCG.)
2 Dark Bribe
2 Compulsory evac device
2 Bottomless trap hole
2 Seven tools of the bandit
2 Royal Oppression
1 Starlight road
1 Solemn Judgement
1 Scrap Iron Scarecrow
1 Call of the Haunted
1 Mirror force
Demon’s chain………It halts Alot of powerful monsters like Judgment Dragon and Dark Armed dragon, and prevents them from Attacking.
Reason why its ran in here is that Falcon can return this back to hand and reuse it on the next turn!
Scrap Iron is inside to protect the respective draw engines: Morphing jar and Des Lacooda and maybe even Deino!
Dark Bribe and seven tools to counter Opponent’s efforts to break the Falcon’s control.
Starlight road to protect backrow seeing how there is alot of it in this kind of deck.
Royal Oppresion can be run because Falcon just bounces it back!
Falcon can bounce spell and trap cards and this enables you to do a wide variety of combos with Chain and Bang Shot!
Lets look at the Side deck shall we?
Side deck – 15
3 Holy light
2 D.D. Crow
1 Breaker
1 Gorz
1 Smashing ground
2 My body as a shield
2 emergency provisions
2 Dust tornado
1 Trap hole
Holy Light and D.D. Crow – to combat Infernities
Alot of the choices for the side deck makes sense, Gorz does seem weird though with all the backrow unless emergency provisions gets sided in as well!
Overall, this deck is pretty neat! Kudos to its maker!
Hmmm, now let me try =D
Monsters-15
3 Falcon
3 Raiou
3 Breaker
2 Des lacooda
2 Snowman Eater
1 BF-Gale
1 Morphing Jar
Spells -8
2 Book of moon
2 Smashing ground
2 Big Bang Shot
1 MST
1 Swords of Revealing light
Traps -17
2 Demon Chain
2 bottomless trap hole
2 Dark Bribe
2 Compulsory evac device
2 seven tools of the bandit
2 Scrap Iron scarecrow
2 Starlight road
1 Mirror force
1 Royal Oppression
1 Solemn Judgement
There we go! =D
