Leveling a Shaman? Make Sure You Read This First

If you’re considering leveling a Shaman, the first thing you need to do is learn what they’re all about. In a funny WoW commercial, William Shatner gave a good overview of them. The Shaman is a “conduit for the ancient forces of nature.

So a Shaman is basically going to use a lot of elemental spells to kill enemies with. As you’re leveling a Shaman, you can venture down the restoration path, enhancement path or elemental path. The restoration Shaman is great with heals, the enhancement Shaman will be good at melee while the elemental shaman will attack from afar.

One of the most important abilities of the Shaman is to summon totems that can buff you and your party, cast various status effects on the enemies or deal damage. The totem’s effect can also fall within the wind, fire, earth or air element.

If you’re looking for other benefits of being a Shaman, they include the ability to put on mail as well as their flexibility. What I mean by that is they can play as either a healer, or attack via melee or ranged means.

Now as good as the Shaman is, there are some weaknesses which is to be expected. For one, the totems cast by Shamans can be taken out real easy, also, Shamans tend not to be good at any 1 thing, they are more like a jack-of-all-trades.

I think Shamans though are a lot of fun to play as. Now they may have been nerfed in many of the recent patches and they may be a bit weak in player vs player, however they are a lot of fun to play as and worth taking the time to level.

So now that you have an idea of what to expect, you may want to find out a bit more about leveling a Shaman, it’s therefore a good idea to have a look into a detailed guide that will cover levels 1 through 80.
