Gay Puree: An ignorant feline’s misadventures in. Paris. Fashionable animation from UPA office, written by ‘Get rid of Dorothy Jones’ requires storytelling energy. Chief positive holdings are Garland and Goulet acting primordial melodies by Harold Arlen and E. Y. Harburg, who inscribed THE Magician OF OZ score for Judy years before. Cast includes Robert Goulet, Burgundy Buttons, Hermione Gingold, Paul Frees, and Morey Amsterda. (86 minutes, 1962)
Bull Durham: This comedy is about life in the minor leagues of baseball. It centers on two players, veteran catcher Crash Davis, and rookie pitching prospect ‘Nuke’ LaLoosh. Nuke’s hopes and dreams are all in front of him, while Crash, who is helping Nuke learn the game, sees his career as a baseball player coming to an end.
Chicken Run: Endearingly loopy halt-motion excited characteristic from the Oscar-triumphing founders of Wallace and Gromit. The setting is a British barnyard where the poultry are decided to flee their destiny and genuinely soar the coop. Entertaining for grownups on one level with a number of clever references to old POW films and just basic fun for babies. Cast includes Peter Lord, Notch Park, Julia Miranda Richardson, Imelda Staunton, and Timothy Spell. (84 minutes, 2000)
Gran Torino: Walt Kowalski is a tough minded Korean War Vet who doesn’t get along with anyone. When Tao, his neighbor tries to steal his prize possession, his 1973 Gran Torino, he sets out the reform his young neighbor. When other gangs in the area threaten Tao and his family, Walt takes action to protect his newfound friends.
Commando: Here’s an extremely loud comic magazine flick in reference to retired particular representative Schwarzenegger, who’s made to go back into motion while vengeful goons abduct his baby girl. Film’s funny bone courtesy scripter Steven E. de Souza is largely annihilated by all the sound and pointless bloodshed. Controller’s cut runs 90 minutes. Adam’s Apples: This movie is a bizarre dark comedy about two very different men who have a battle of wills. It is a newly developed religious zealot versus a hard core neo-Nazi criminal. The battle of good versus evil is on. The main stars are Ulrich Thomsen, Mads Mikkelsen, Nicolas Bro, and Paprika Steen. (German-Danish-comedy directed by Anders Thomas Jensen)
New Jack City: Nino Brown and CMB have taken over the drug scene in New York in the late 1980′s. They take over an entire apartment complex to run their operation. With internal struggles brewing Nino trusts no one. City cops eventually get someone on the inside, and they finally take Nino Brown down.
