Rhapsody in Blue: Hollywood biography of George Gershwin is largely fiction, although comes off better than most other composer biographies, seizing Gershwin’s excitement for his work, and some of his central clashes. Highlight is essentially complete behavior of title work. Cast includes Robert Aida, Joan Leslie, Alexis Smith, Oscar Levant, Charles Coburn, Hazel Scott, and Al Jolson. (139 minutes, 1945)

Night of the Blood Monster: Lee is fine as Magistrate Jeffrey’s who is a vicious judge presiding over “Bloody Assizes” after the Monmouth Revolt contrary to Baron James II, although film itself is monotonous and grisly. Cast includes Christopher Lee, Maria Schell, Leo Genn, Maria Rohm, and Margaret Lee. (84 minutes, 1970)

Tropic Thunder: Desperate to get more out of his spoiled actors, while filming an epic war Vietnam War film, director Damien Cockburn makes a bold move. He litters the jungle with cameras, plans some diversions, and throws the actors in the jungle on their own to fend for themselves. They think it’s only a movie, but soon the bullets coming at the actors are real.

From Nashville with Music: Some excellent country and western music, although one would be better served to purchase one of the actors’ albums rather than agonizing through this tale of a New York couple who go to the Grand Ole Opry by accident. Cast includes Marilyn Maxwell, Leo G. Carroll, Pedro Gonzalez, Marty Robbins, Merle Haggard, and Buck Owens. (87 minutes, 1969)

Suddenly Last Summer: Intriguing if talky albeit tidied-up Tennessee Williams spun wool in regards to prosperous Southern matriarch Hepburn, her allegedly crazy niece, Taylor and a neurosurgeon Cliff perform well together. Cast includes Elizabeth Taylor, Katharine Hepburn, Montgomery Clift, Mercedes McCambridge, and Albert Dekker. (114 minutes, 1959)

Austin Powers: International Mystery: 1960′s secret agent is being brought out of cryogenics now to battle his nemesis, Dr. Evil. Dr. Evil, was also brought into the 90′s through cryogenics, and with a stolen nuclear weapon is threatening the world. The battle is on, as Austin must save the world from Dr. Evil.

Star Trek: Generations: A strange astronomical occurrence has brought two famous captains of the enterprise into the same time and space. Picard and Kirk must work together to destroy an alien who is demolishing civilizations.
