The Leading Man – British backstage show romance in regards to an American film superstar who seduces a playwright’s depressed spouse and his leading-woman mistress. When it might not make up its mind whether it is a comedy tirade or a light thriller, it is still exceptionally funny stuff. Bon Jovi is excellent as the brash, amoral Yankee, and Galiena and Newton are enticing as the females snared in his web. Cast includes Jon Bon Jovi, Anna Galiena, Lambert Wilson, Thandie Newton, Barry Humphries, and David Warner. (100 minutes, 1997)
China Nine Liberty 37 – This is a bewildering Western in which railroad tycoons show mercy to a man from gallows in trade for killing another gunfighter. The gunfighter’s girl falls for the killer and helps do his evil work. Title refers to the signpost giving distance to two nearby towns. Cast includes Warren Oates, Fabio Testi, Jenny Agutter, and Sam Peckinpah. (102 minutes, 1978)
Batman – The comic book television series hits the silver screen. An wicked and diabolical criminal, acknowledged as The Joker, is attempting to take over Gotham City. The police are powerless to stop him. The city is in peril, until a new super hero emerges. An unknown force, so to be called Batman comes on the scene and defeats The Joker and save the city.

Big Trouble in Little China – Buddy Blowhard trucker Russell finds himself at large in Chinatown, while a friend’s fiance is abducted right in front of his eyes. High tech Indiana Jones fashion venture has large tongue-in-cheek demeanor, however everything else in reference to it is colossal, too including Russell’s John Wayne strut. Outstanding electric music score. The cast includes Kurt Russell, Kim Cattrall, Dennis Dun, James Hong, Champ Wong, and Kate Burton. (99 minutes, 1986)
Trading Hearts – Trading Hearts is a romantic comedy in which a bright young daughter (Lewis) tries to take advantage of her mom (D’ Angelo), a show-biz failure, into matrimony with a broken-down baseball player (Raul Julia). Cast includes Raul Julia, Beverly D’ Angelo, Jenny Lewis, and Parris Buckner. (88 minutes, 1988)
The Cheyenne Social Club – A cowboy with very little money inherits and runs the Cheyenne Social Club which to his shock turns out to be a brothel in the Old West. The film has lots of chuckles, although stereotypes are plentiful throughout the film. Cast includes Henry Fonda, James Stewart, Shirley Jones, Sue Ane Langdon, and Elaine Devry. (103 minutes, 1970)
