Like the others, you need to build up the units and buildings, but it’s going to smack your resources pretty hard. Still, you want them because they’re a unit that works their technology to your advantage.
With Protoss, be defensive. Get them built, get them ready. You want Zealots. These are ground units with psychic powers that know how to defeat enemy forces in one on one engagement. They’re powerful but costly.
Next, you want to construct the cannon walls. This defense structure – photon cannon – has sensors and is handy in fighting against air and ground attacks. You want to use the Dark Templar warriors along with your Zealots to be your first line of defense. The Dark Templar know how to manipulate the light so that they appear as invisible which makes them great as a wall of defense.
You’ll want to use Carriers. You’ll need to know that the Carriers are weapons but they don’t have any weapons. What they are capable of however, is intercepting the enemy and bringing them down.
You’ve heard the term ‘strength in numbers,’ – well, when you get a group of Carriers together, the sheer number can be terrifying. They can knock out targets. While they are a good defense, they’re not invincible.
They start out carrying 4 interceptors, but with an upgrade, can go to 8. Without interceptors, you have no use for the Carrier and since they’re expensive, you want to be careful with them-make sure they’re not an easy target by enemies on the ground. Protect your Carrier or you lose your interceptors too if the Carrier goes down. If your Carrier takes a hit, don’t hesitate to pull it out of battle.
A couple of final Starcraft Protoss tips-that were in the original game-make sure have a shield battery. It’s an important part of the support and contains psionic energy. Another tip?
When you’re battling against another player in the soon to be released Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty game, go after his base right away. Get your zealots over there ASAP. Brag rights of winning at Starcraft doesn’t go to the fastest player. It goes to the one who knows how to strategize.
