The Sims 2 Review

As popular (incredibly, sensationally, time-space-warpingly popular) as it has been, The Sims wasn’t a game for everyone. Probably because some wouldn’t even describe it as a game. This is cause the game leaked a clear goal, leaving it up to the players to decide the objectives. So the game could actually be described as a toy.

The fact that the Sims is so open is also probably why the game was so successful.

If your imagination is not a barier then you will be pleased with the Sims. And this applies even stronger to Sims 2 than it does to Sims.

It was probably hard to do a sequel to the original game, since it was the best selling PC game, and the sequel had to be even better. If too many changes were made in the sequel, a risk of breaking the formula that got them a best selling computer game was there, but not enough changes would also not work well for the game.

The new sequel seems to be significally improved compared to the previous versions. It’s practically bug free, the gameplay was greatly improved and the graphics look amazing! The new version is so much better than the first one, it’s exactly what a sequel is supposed to be.

The thing that changed the most, is the visual quality of the Sims. All of the Sims’ characters and things they can interact with are very nicely rendered. What you will also notice, is the various animations characters can express, which gives the game a very real look. Many of the animations also depend on the character’s personality.

The new sequel still may not satisfy all players, but it’s a great improvement of the original game for sure.
