Playstation 3: If you use cheats on any PS3 game, will it prevent you from earning the trophies?

For example if you use cheats on an Xbox, then you can't earn the acheivements. Is the PS3 the same way?

well technically yes. because you cannot achieve anything by cheating

: like The Shadow said about 99% of games don't have cheats but the ones that do may lock them or they will not penalize you for using them a great example would be GTA IV if you use cheats there will be a notice and the trophies will lock like Walk free trophy as while Dead Space if you use cheats you will not be penalized no trophy will lock if you use cheats
: Not all trophies are blocked. It actually depends on the type of trophy you are trying for. For instance anything that has to do with survival would be blocked. But on games like gta 4, trophies like half a million and wheelie rider as well as trophies that have to do with making it to a particular point in the game, are not blocked.
: Depends on the game, not the console. In GTA IV, they pretty much block 95% of the cheats, but if you use a car cheat, it won't penalize you.
: Of course it is the same. I mean the idea is to prevent you from cheating to "brag" how good you are.
