Suggestion:
I use a sony bravia remote to control my Playstation 3/PS3. you go to settings (the column second from the left of the XMB menu) and go to "manage your accessories". In that, there will be an option to control devices connected via an HDMI cable using the bravia remote. On default it is off, but you can turn it on. once on, you can use your remote!
You need to have your PS3 connected via an HDMI cable to your sony bravia tv in order for this to work.
