How Do I Hook Up My Playstation 2!?

i just found it today and its been missing for a year or so. i got the red,white,yellow cables pluged in to my directv reciever, but there's also an input for the red, yellow,white, IN FRONT of my emerson TV..i put the plug into the ps2 and plug it in to my outlet. when i turn the red light on to green nothing happens. plz help!!! thanks ")

Suggestion:

plug it straight into the TV not into the reciever. and make sure you change your TV to the correct input for it. once the PS2 is connected to the TV, turn it on and "scroll" through the input options until you see the PS2 screen).
