Uh Wtf My Playstation 3 Controller Won't Charge?

Its one of the non dualshock ones. I plug it in (battery is completely flat) and nothing happens, no lights, nothing. I tried HOLDING down the ps button for like a whole minute. Seriously, its unresponsive.

I have another controller I can use, but having two is pretty useful. Help?

Suggestion:

theres a SMALL hole in the back of the controller at the top. press it with a pencil, or a toothpick
