What Cable(s) Would I Need to Record Playstation 2 Music from the Console to My Laptop?

I was looking up the RCA cables with the USB connector on the other end, but in the descriptions, I read that "PC Computer Laptop can't use the cable directly Maximum signal transmission Superior sound and graphics with this component connector" or something to that effect. Can anyone tell me exactly what tools I need to connect a Playstation 2 to a laptop that runs Windows XP so that I can record the music from the playstation to the computer? I've already installed Audacity for the recording software.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Suggestion:

Saw this question and knew my hubby had done this before.

Get a stereo RCA to 1/8 inch cable.

Making sure the RCA jack is female. Connect the female L/R RCA connections to the male RCA cables from the PS2 and then plug the 1/8 inch jack to your audio input on the PC.

I wish I could show you the diagram he drew but it went like this:

PS2 (male) ——–>to female L ———>1/8 inch jack
(male)———>to female R ———>1/8 inch jack

He was a little fuzzy on it being 1/4 inch or 1/8 inch but believes it is 1/8 inch.

I really hope this helps…its over my head.
