Is Activision Making A New Spiderman Game?

A financial earnings report has been released by Activision for the financial quarter just passed. The publisher announced making $200 million profits on a $1 billion sales earnings. However, the golden piece of video game news behind the announcement is a few unannounced games within the earnings report.

Pretty deep within the report, behind all the technical talk, were some hints at new Spiderman, Tony Hawk, and James Bond games that could be on the horizon. Although the Spiderman and the Tony Hawk game is not confirmed, the president of Activision, Mike Griffith did confirm the Bond game. Unfortunately, Mr Griffth didn’t give out much information, simple it was in production.

The current Bond game, released earlier this year, was published by Activision and it has been one of the best Bond based games to date. That game got gamers playing through 2 different films, Casino Royale and the latest one, Quantum of Solace. That game had been built by Treyarch, the masters behind many Call of Duty games, probably why it grabbed to many good video game ratings. However, nothing was said as to whether Treyarch would be making this new Bond game.

Also, nothing was released about how the storyline of the game would go. so really we have no idea where the storyline could go, it could be based entirely on a new story, a previously released film, or many even a prequel to a yet to be announced film.

As for the other 2 games rumoured at, there were some details going around recently about a possible new Spiderman film, which would imply a new game was also being developed. Finally, the last game hinted at, Tony Hawks, I don’t think this is going to happen because with Tony Hawk: Ride being released in November, I personally don’t think they would release a new one so soon after. But you never really know, we’ll simply have to wait and see what they announce.
