Guys, I Am a Vetran in Ps2 and Now Plan to Buy a Ps3 Through Amazon. Help!?

What all acessories are a must to buy along with the console? Can i use PS2 controller for PS3? With PS move bundle, would I get one controller or two i.e if i have to play fight games? What is the use of Hi-Speed HDMI Cable? Can I save games in the Hardrive or do i have to insert a CD every time. Please adviceand thanks in advance..

Suggestion:

You'll have to buy all new stuff for the PS3 unfortunately. The only thing from the PS2 that will work with the PS3 are the multi-AV cables – but if you have ave HDTV, you'll want to use a HDMI cable anyways. HDMI is the latest AV cable that carries both HD video, and digital surround signals on a single cable. If you have a HDTV, go get a HDMI cable. It's the easiest and cheapest way to get HD video out of the PS3. Do not spend more than $10 on a HDMI cable. You're just wasting your money. If you can't find a cheap HDMI cable, buy one online from Amazon, or Monoprice.com (I like Monoprice – they're cheap, good, and quick.)

If your home theater receiver (AVR) supports HDMI, you can plug the PS3 into the AVR, and then your AVR into your TV using HDMI cables. The AVR will take the audio signal for its speakers, and just send the (HD) video signal to your TV. This greatly reduces the rats nest of wires that tend to grow behind AV cabinets…

Like the PS2, the PS3 only comes with a single controller. You'll have to purchase additional controller(s) as you did with the PS2. This also means you'll have to buy all new Guitar Hero/Rock Band instruments as well if you play those games.

Also, all PS3s currently available no longer play PS2 games, so you may want to hold onto your PS2 and accessories if you still want to play those games. All PS3s can play PS1 games, although I can only think of a few PS1 games still worth playing nowadays…

Some PS3 games give you the option to copy themselves partially to the hard drive, while other games don't give you this option and do this anyways. However you still always need to have the game disc in the PS3 to play the game. (can this be hacked? yes, but that's a separate issue….)
