Suggestion:
no. PS2 games are region locked, so they will only play on a backwards compatible PS3 from the same country. for example, if your PS3 is backwards compatible, it will only play Asian PS2 games. the European PS3 will only play European PS2 games. there is NOTHING you can do to change this.
