Can My Ps3 Play Ps2 Games?

My ps3 has this PS/PS2 Memory card in the PS3 (in the Game section) does tat mean it can play PS2 games? if not , y is it there. i dont know the version of the PS3 cuz i got it from my cuzin and he doesnt know either cus he got it from his brother.

Suggestion:

does your PS3 have 4 USB drives? if it does, i can guarantee you have a PS2/PS3.

but if you don't, the PS/PS2 memory card is for PS1 games only. Sony didn't change the name for it, for time, and money reasons.
