How Do I Play Ps2 Games on My Ps3?
i know u guys were gonna say go to the playstation store. From there go to the add-ons folder and then u know the rest…..but when i clicked the ps2 system data when i clicked download then it said to sign up. I signed up n then when i went to the playstation store..the add-ons option wasn't there anymore…..16GB ps3 if it helps in any way wat so ever..
Suggestion:
only Fat PS3s with 4 USB ports can play PS2 games but those console also need to download the PS2 System Data from PSN b4 the function is enabled, other than that no other PS3 can play PS2 games unless u download the game from PSN and as for PS1 games all PS3 can play those
Note: PS1/2 games are Region Locked on the PS3 weather its the Disc or the Digital Download.

Only a fat 20GB or 40GB can play PS2 games.
You can't. End of story. Add-ons do not give you PS2 playback (never has and never will). It requires hardware that's on the motherboard. Your PS3 does not have this hardware, so it won't play PS2 games. Ever. Accept it.
I tried doing the same thing, and I bought a ps3 because of it. I read some information about ps3, and I saw that there were basically 2 types. One sold in North America/Uk etc. while one is sold strictly in Japan. The ones in Japan are the ones that can run ps2 as well as ps3 games. The ones in japan also have 4 USB ports and 2 HDMI slots, so its obviously better. I doubt you can play ps2 game on your ps3, unless its from Japan
