I agree with you. With exception to Bloodrayne 1's first Act, it wasn't a bad game. But poorly handled by the developers. The fact that the movie tie ins were also cr*p didn't help either and the recent XBLA bloodrayne game was OK at best.
BUT. Bloodrayne has got something that will always work for it: A sexy Hero with loads of publicity, she was even featured in Playboy! That almost always guarantees that Rayne's games will go on. Whether they'll be good or not is another question.
I say hand the project over to Square Enix or Gearbox and get it over with. I think 2K turning it into a FPS (ala Bioshock or the Darkness) wouldn't be a bad idea either.
